Mikail was more convinced than ever that the woman he'd just pleasured was his by fate.

The sight of her naked body sprawled over his furs, breasts heaving and hair fanned around her crown, was too good not to take in with a single, instinctive thought emerging.

This is how it should be.

What they'd shared that night hadn't been some fling, and what he felt wasn't a fluke. No, he knew in his bones that he was tethered to Jennifer Kivsey, and wanted nothing more than to have her in his bed night after night, satisfied and panting just the way she was now.

Shirking his pants off, he quickly joined her, stretching his body out beside hers before pressing several kisses against her cheeks and neck.

Groaning, she turned her head to seek his mouth, and Mikail didn't deny her a passionate kiss, his tongue swirling around hers with a deep groan of appreciation rumbling from his chest.

As soon as their lips broke contact, he found her nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck while affectionately drawing her knuckles across his cheek.

Capturing her wrist, he turned to press a kiss into her palm as she whispered on a sleepy tone, “Mission accomplished.”

He arched a brow questioningly. “What do you mean?”

“You promised I'd enjoy every moment, and you certainly delivered.”

Finally, he grinned, pressing another kiss to her lips before she added, “And it's probably the orgasmic euphoria talking, but for what it's worth, I do think I'd be lucky to have you, Mikail.”

Chuckling, he dragged one of the furs up over their bodies and murmured, “Euphoria or not, it's worth more than words can say.”

A languid smile graced her lips, but only for a moment before she asked, “You're not upset I can't make promises, are you?”

He nearly groaned, the mere thought of their situation weighing heavily now that his mind wasn't clouded with pleasure. But instead of discussing it in depth, he replied, “I won't lie, I'm more convinced now than ever that you're mine. But I'd rather enjoy this moment than worry about what might come tomorrow.”

“Me too,” she agreed, the words coming out as a yawn. “I haven't had an evening like this in … well, never, honestly.”

It was impossible to suppress a sense of pride in asking, “Was it that good?”

“Good? Try mind blowing.”

Grinning arrogantly, he kissed her forehead and directed, “Then rest, love. Everything else can wait until morning.”

Kivsey didn't respond with words, and only placed a kiss against his neck before snuggling against him beneath the furs—and he cherished every second. No matter what came tomorrow, having the heat of her body settled so comfortably against his now was the best feeling in the world, causing him to drift off in record time.

The last thought that entered his mind before doing so was to wonder what Terra was like, and how she'd react to learning of his intentions to accompany her there.
